Baked Pear and Granola with Brown Sugar Glaze

This easy dessert is sure to please guests, your time and tastebuds!

Ingredients:

Pears; cut in half and cored (red pears are perfect for this but don't worry if you don't have any, green works just as well)

Glaze:

1 tbp butter

1 tbp brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Granola Mixture:

Granola (I used Harvest Crunch Light & Crispy; has a touch of honey and brings out the flavours perfectly)

Honey; drizzle

Dash of vanilla extract (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F

1. Cut pears in half and scoop out some of the pear to create a hollow centre. Place on baking sheet and cut small slits around the edge of the pear (this will soak up the glaze)

2. Prepare the Glaze: Soften butter in microwave. When softened, mix in brown sugar and vanilla extract and drizzle 3/4 of it onto the pear. Bake for approx 10 minutes (this all depends on how soft the pears are so check after the 10 minute mark)

3. As the pear is baking, mix together the granola mixture.

4. When the pear is done, scoop the granola mixture into the hollow centre of the pear and drizzle the rest of the glaze over it. Bake for another 5-7 minutes.

Tip: After transferring pear to plate, the glaze that wasn't soaked into the pear will be left on the baking sheet. Trust me when I say, drizzle that onto the pear. mm mm good!

Buon Appetito!
